In short

Bluestone PIM is a Norwegian SaaS PIM built on a microservice, API-first and headless architecture and certified by the MACH Alliance. It serves mid-market and enterprise retailers and manufacturers that run composable commerce stacks. Its main strengths are its API coverage, agent-oriented AI design with MCP support and bring-your-own-model options, and a 2026 initiative for digital product passport data.

Overview

Bluestone PIM is a cloud-native, headless PIM exposing more than 500 APIs and a marketplace of more than 40 apps. It is MACH-certified and holds SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications. The platform targets organisations that assemble commerce stacks from separate services and need product data delivered by API to storefronts, marketplaces and other systems. Bluestone states that it serves customers in more than 70 countries and has offices in Norway, the UK, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Thailand.

Bluestone describes its platform as agent-first and MCP-native. Capabilities include an in-platform conversational AI Agent (launched October 2025), an MCP Agent Gateway for external agents, and AI modules for enrichment (AI Enrich), translation (AI Linguist), analysis (AI Analyst), assets (AI DAM) and workflow (AI Workflow). Customers can use their own models, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot. Change logs are positioned as support for EU AI Act and DPP traceability. In March 2026 Bluestone announced a DPP initiative for EU regulatory compliance, with a dedicated solution page for EU-ready passport data.

Bluestone PIM was founded in Norway in 2016 and was bootstrapped until January 2024, when Scale Leap Capital and Narwhal Investments led its first external investment round; the amount was not disclosed. The round added board members with links to the MACH Alliance and funded expansion into the UK, Germany and the Benelux region. Bluestone now lists offices in London, Utrecht, Gdansk, Stockholm and Bangkok besides Tønsberg, and in 2026 it received a MACH Alliance Agent Ready Award.
