PXM Atlas

Methodology

PXM Atlas profiles are editorial assessments built from public, verifiable sources. The aim is a consistent, comparable view of each vendor that a buying team can check for itself. Profiles do not replace demos, reference calls or a structured selection.

Inclusion criteria

  • The vendor sells software whose primary purpose is product information management, product experience management, product master data management or product data syndication.
  • The vendor is commercially active and serves customers in Europe, either directly or through partners.
  • Enough public information exists to verify headquarters, ownership, deployment model and core capabilities.

Sources and verification

Editors use vendor documentation, release notes, trust and security pages, company registry data, investor and acquisition announcements, standards bodies (for example GS1 certification lists) and reputable trade press. Each profile lists its sources and the month of the last verification. Facts that could not be verified are omitted rather than estimated.

Capability evidence levels

Ten capability areas are scored on a four-level scale that measures public evidence. The scale describes what is documented. It does not measure customer satisfaction or implementation quality.

LevelLabelMeaning
0No public evidenceNo documentation, release note or credible third-party source shows the capability.
1Basic or via partnerThe capability exists in a limited form, as an add-on, or through a certified partner or marketplace connector.
2Native capabilityThe capability is part of the vendor's own product, documented and generally available.
3Core strengthThe capability is central to the product's positioning, with depth that goes beyond the category norm.

The ten areas are: product information management, digital asset management, channel syndication, supplier onboarding, multi-domain mdm, ai content generation, data quality and completeness, workflow and governance, gs1 gdsn connectivity, dpp and compliance data.

Categories

Each vendor sits in one primary category: PXM suite, PIM, open-source PIM, product MDM, or syndication and feeds. Many vendors span several categories; the primary category reflects the product most customers buy first.

Independence

Vendors cannot pay for inclusion, ordering, evidence levels or wording. Directory listings are alphabetical. Head-to-head pages are generated from the same profile data for every pair.

Corrections and updates

Profiles are reviewed at least twice a year and after major announcements such as acquisitions. Vendors and readers can submit factual corrections with a public source to editors@pxmatlas.com. Editors review each request and record the change date on the profile.
