Contentserv is a German-founded PXM vendor that Centric Software, part of Dassault Systèmes, acquired in 2025 and now markets as Centric PXM. The platform combines PIM, DAM, supplier onboarding, syndication to more than 1,000 channels and digital shelf analytics. It serves brands, retailers and manufacturers, with editions for FMCG and retail and for industrial manufacturing, and links to Centric PLM.
Overview
Centric PXM combines the former Contentserv platform with syndication and analytics. PIM and DAM centralise specifications, media and claims; an Onboarding Portal routes supplier catalogues into the PIM after AI validation and mapping; Content Syndication and the Centric Shoppingfeed multichannel feed publish to more than 1,000 channels; and Digital Shelf Analytics monitors pricing, content presence and sentiment on retail sites. Centric markets two variants, PXM for FMCG and Retail and PXM for Industrial Manufacturing. At the time of the acquisition announcement, Contentserv reported more than 1,600 customers in 90 countries.
Centric describes AI across more than 75 use cases in the content lifecycle, covering validation, enrichment, translation and localisation, categorisation, data quality checks, compliance checks, sentiment analysis and SKU performance anomalies. A distinguishing element is the link to the wider Centric portfolio (PLM, planning, pricing and inventory optimisation, market intelligence and visual boards), which allows product data to flow from design and development into commercial content. Centric lists integration with ERP, PLM and commerce systems including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Adobe Commerce.
Contentserv was founded in Germany in 2000 and was majority owned by Investcorp from 2019. On 25 February 2025 Dassault Systèmes announced that Centric Software would acquire Contentserv at an enterprise value of EUR 220 million; Centric states the acquisition took place in February 2025 and the product has since been branded Centric PXM. Contentserv and censhare are separate companies with no shared ownership.
